Welcome to the Rosenethe Singers' website

The Rosenethe Singers are based in Dunblane and draw singers from all over the Stirling area. We are a friendly choir of about 50 members and we sing a wide variety of both sacred and secular music, performing at least two concerts each year.

We welcome new members, no matter what the age, experience or part - but tenors are especially welcome.  If you are a reasonable sight-reader of music , and want to sing in beautiful surroundings on a Wednesday evening, the Rosenethe Singers could be just right for you!

We are in the process of adding more pages to this site, so please visit again soon. We hope that you will enjoy looking at it and that it will answer your questions - whether you are interested in joining, or you just want to find out about the choir's forthcoming concerts, or you are already a member. To find out more about the choir, please contact us.

Rosenethe in Berlin!   April 26th 2009
We are delighted to have been invited by the Berliner Konzert Chor to join with them for a performance of Britten’s War Requiem in the Philharmonie, Berlin (home of the Berlin Philharmonic) on Sunday 26th April.  We shall also be joined by another Berlin-based choir, the Embassy Singers.

The following is an extract from the Konzert Chor’s website:
The fourth concert in our subscription series is the War Requiem by Benjamin Britten, which for many years has been a much loved piece in the concert repertoire.  It was a commissioned work, performed for the first time at the consecration of the newly restored cathedral in Coventry in 1962. The church and the city were destroyed by German bombing in the Second World War. In the midst of the Cold War, raging in 1962, Britten sets out explicitly to serve the cause of reconciliation between enemies old and new.  His War Requiem may be said to bear war itself to its grave… may it rest there forever!

Tickets for this event may be obtained by visiting their website: www.berlinerkonzertchor.de<http://www.berlinerkonzertchor.de/>

We shall also be performing this work in Dunblane Cathedral on Remembrance Sunday, 8th November, 2009.
